Meals for parents
Dear parents,
During your child’s stay in the Neonatology Department, you may order meals for accompanying persons for a fee.
Ordering meals
Please complete the order form in full and place it in the designated compartment in the parents’ lounge.
Please observe the following ordering deadlines:
- Breakfast: by 5.00 p.m. on the previous day
- Lunch: by 9.00 a.m. on the same day
- Dinner: by 2.00 p.m. on the same day
Collecting meals
The meals you have ordered will be available in the meal trolley in the parents’ lounge at the following times:
- Breakfast: 7.10–8.20 a.m.
- Lunch: 11.10 a.m.–12.00 noon
- Dinner: 5.10–6.00 p.m.
Please return your tray to the trolley after your meal.
Costs and payment
All meals for accompanying persons are subject to a charge. Prices can be found on the menu or in our price list.
The invoice will be sent to your home after your child has been discharged. Whether the costs are covered by your health insurance depends on your insurance policy. Please contact your health insurance provider directly for further information.
Drinks and other dining options
A water dispenser is available in the building. The tap water is also of excellent drinking quality. You are also welcome to help yourself to tea on the ward.
One drink is included in the price of breakfast. Drinks can be ordered for an additional charge with the other meals if required.
There are several restaurants at Inselspital. You can find an overview of the available options here.
Shops selling drinks and snacks are located approximately five minutes away on foot.
